2027 Season Auditions

Welcome to the Ohio Light Opera 2027 Festival Season Audition Page. We are excited to announce Vocal Company auditions for our 2027 summer Festival Season. Tentative residency dates are May 19th through August 2nd, 2027 and will be solidified prior to any offers.

The six-show, 2027 season will include:
• Oklahoma! (Rodgers and Hammerstein, 1943)
• The Secret Garden
(Norman and Simon, 1991)
• Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
(Styne, 1949)
• The New Moon
(Romberg, 1928)
• The Sorcerer,
with a Cox and Box curtain warmer (Gilbert and Sullivan, 1866; Burnand and Sullivan, 1866)
• An Offenbach Double Bill – Two Blind Men and Regrets Only

The Ohio Light Opera offers two types of agreements to singers: Resident Young Artist Fellowship and Resident Professional Artist.  Both come with compensation and housing for the entire season. For 2027 we will continue using a hybrid audition process, with an option for EITHER an in-person or virtual audition experience.  You may audition in either of the following two formats:

• In Person – travel to a site, audition live for company artistic staff (accompanist provided)
*Fully Online – upload a complete audition “package” for review

*If you chose to audition online, our application will ask if you are willing to travel to a live audition IF we wish to consider you for a Resident Professional Artist contract.  We will only ask you to travel if, after reviewing your online submission, we are seriously considering you for a substantial contract with the company (think of it as a call-back).  If you are unable to travel, additional recorded selections may be substituted at our request.
