Ohio Light Opera 2026 Festival Season
Youth Auditions

The Ohio Light Opera is thrilled to announce local youth auditions for our 2026 Festival Season productions of My Fair Lady and Damn Yankees! We are seeking young performers aged 8-18 with a passion for singing and acting to bring these timeless classics to life.

Auditions
Sunday, November 9th – 1pm – 5pm by appointment
The College of Wooster, Wooster, OH

What to Prepare
All will be asked to sing an excerpt from “Heart.” Music is provided on our website. Feel free to prepare from the Broadway or motion-picture soundtrack of Damn Yankees, the musical from which this song is taken. An accompanist will be provided at the audition and youth will be asked to sing along with others, as well as solo.

Rehearsal Dates
My Fair Lady – May 27 – May 31 and June 9 – 12
Damn Yankees – June 1 – June 4 and June 14 – 17

Performances
My Fair Lady – June 13, 17, 19, 23, 27, July 8, 10, 11, 14, 17, 23, 25, 30, August 2
Damn Yankees – June 18, 20, 24, 26, July 2, 7, 12, 16, 18, 21, 25, 31

Youth will be able to indicate interest/availability for both productions or one or the other. There is the potential to be cast in a single production or both based on interest/availability and the needs of the company. This is a wonderful opportunity for young performers to work alongside seasoned professionals and be part of a vibrant theatrical experience!
